I’m descended from a hearty line of cowfolk and mountaineers.
I was born in Montana — where my mom grew up on a (literal) dude ranch — but we moved to the Pacific Northwest when I was pretty young. Now, I’ve spent most of my life living on an island.
I started dancing when I was 4, and am still in love with it. After going to school (for dance) at Connecticut College, I came back to Seattle for a decade’s-worth of dancing professionally, choreographing, teaching, and working for some knock-your-socks-off non-profit arts organizations.
Then, I got really curious about architecture and how to actually create the space that our bodies move through. I went to the 3-year Masters of Architecture program at UW, and will graduate in the spring of 2022. I’m super interested in building affordable housing, arts spaces, community spaces, and accessible spaces.
I still dance and choreograph.
I teach ballet to my high school students every Saturday morning.

Dance + Choreography
A performer and choreographer based in Seattle, Kim’s choreography has been presented at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, On the Boards' Northwest New Works Festival, Velocity Dance Center, Bumbershoot, Vashon Center for the Arts, and Seattle International Dance Festival. Her work has been supported by Velocity’s Creative Residency program. As a dancer Kim has performed with zoe|juniper, and served as Rehearsal Director + Choreographic Assistant to the company setting zoe|juniper's work around the country. She has also performed with Peggy Piacenza and Britta Joy Peterson. She holds a degree in dance from Connecticut College and grew up dancing at Bainbridge Dance Center.
